Assemble the sandwiches:
Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Sprinkle with cheese, chilies, red and green bell pepper, spices and cilantro (if using). Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side up.
Secure your sandwiches with toothpicks.
4 Air fry to perfection: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the assembled sandwiches in the air fryer basket and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown and crispy.
5 Serve and enjoy! Immediately transfer the sandwiches to plates and relish the gooey, crispy, and spicy deliciousness!
