In a large bowl soak tamarind in 4 cups boiling water for 30 minutes.
Once soaked,using your fingers,squeeze and squish to seperate pulp from seeds and fiber.Use a cup of more water to squeeze out maximum pulp from tamarind fiberÂ
Now strain the pulp using a colander place over an other bowl.Press down using spatualla or back of the spoon.You will be left with seeds and fibers,waste them.
You can use store bought ready to use tamarind pulp for your convenience.
